It's Official

With my maternity leave running out very soon (three more weeks! ack!), I decided to request working only part-time. It doesn't seem like that will happen at my current job, so guess what?
I am going to be a stay-at-home-mom.

How could I not? Have you seen this kid:

To all the stay-at-home-moms out there: please tell me, how do you do it? Do you cook and clean all day? Do you walk the mall? The park? How do you manage when it's freezing outside and you can't take the baby out?

I'm in a fairly warm climate, but there are lots of activities & play groups everywhere. I suggest that you try to get out at least 3 times a week. He is a little young, but there is story time at local libraries. It is a good place to meet other moms & get the inside scoop in your area. There are also a lot of websites that specialize in hook-ups.

I am so NOT a mom, but since I'm not working right now, I'm out a lot during the day when other stay-at-home-moms are out and about. They're at the library, shopping at Target, cruising the aisles of the grocery store, in the kids' section of Barnes & Noble. I'm sure you'll find some places to go! :)

i hear playgroups are a must for SAHMs - esp mothers of newborns. there's one in my area that i considered joining, but never had the time to. i think i actually found them on craigslist! :) and they also had an ad in those local coupon discount flyer book thingies. look on the web for "[your area] mother playgroup"...
