The Life of a Homemaker

Aside from my usual homemaker duties of cleaning, cooking, laundry, grocery shopping and bed making, here's what we've been up to:

Our produce box deliveries started up again this week, so we tackled making some fresh strawberry ice cream this weekend.

Sometimes, things get messy when you're creating a masterpiece.

But once cleaned up and back on track, it's all good.

My roses have bloomed!

New projects include:  a skirt for myself 

Matching make up bag

A superhero cape

A set for friends 

And by far, my favorite:  another make up bag and matching wristlet

Patrick has tackled the next level of LEGO blocks.  He's very good.

Easter Weekend 2012

We took the opportunity to head south this weekend to celebrate Easter.

Loads of fun - we all had a great time.

Another Year Older...

I know I've been lax about posting here.  Since my last post, I've gotten older.  Lordy lord.  Another year!

But thankful for health and family and all that good stuff.

I've picked up a new hobby, which has been loads of fun.

Patrick is in a golden age in that his communication skills are at maximum levels.  He spends the entire day talking - about his toys, his friends, foods he enjoys, playing, movies, heaven, etc.  He can express himself well and has complex ideas and thoughts.

On Mike giving him some toys that used to belong to him when he was a child:
Daddy gave me these astronauts.  They were his when he was little.  When I'm a man, I'm going to give them to my son.

On helping me make homemade, oven baked chicken nuggets:
Will the nuggets look like dinosaurs?  How about Cars?  I want my nuggets to look like something, not just chicken nuggets, Mommy.

On who goes to Disney World:
Who's going with us?  (When I run out of family members, I start naming Mickey, Minnie, etc).  I wasn't talking about the characters Mommy, I want to know what people are going to go. (Insert eye roll here)

On eating apple seeds:
If I eat the seeds, a tree will grow out of MY BODY!

On kindergarten:
When I turn five, I will go to kindergarten.  When I am four, I only go to check it out.

On me feeding his stuffed animal, Poochie:
Poochie is a stuffed animal, Mommy!  He doesn't eat food!  He's just pretending.

I hope he will one day understand the love I feel when I look at him and how I am always the proudest mom in the room.  

Noon Year's Eve 2011

We celebrated the end of 2011 at the local kids' museum, who has excellent programming for kiddies Patrick's age.
