Keeping him entertained…

All for a little quiet while out to eat.

This is what Mike and I are doing these days…

We made it to the coast!

We decided to take a drive out to visit the Carolina coast this morning, and settled at Carolina Beach.  No complaints, everyone loved the ocean, the sand, and even the drive!

IMG_0026Patrick studies a map, just to  make sure we are heading in the right direction.

Then he explains to Nana exactly where we are headed.

A rare snapshot of Patrick and I. IMG_0042 At the beach, he contemplates:  I wonder why I don’t get any checks from Disney.  I certainly advertise their products a lot.IMG_0047

“I just don’t get it.” IMG_0059

I guess I’ll just shovel more sand into this cheap Solo cup my Mama brought along.

*Now* he is cooking in style!

The first thing he exclaimed when he saw the box was, “A surprise!”  Once we opened the box and put the apron on, he wanted to cook.  When I asked him what he wanted to make, he replied, “Hmmmm…. salad.  With cucumbers!”

Another milestone

Before I head back to work full-time, Patrick and I have been “living large.”  This past weekend, we made fresh strawberry and peach sorbet, and this morning, we headed to the movies for the first time.  He was an amazingly well-behaved two and a half year old.  He sat through two hours of movies and applauded when the credits rolled.

Amazing what a few tension rods and panels can do

It’s not much, but it’s a nice new redesign of our existing back patio.  Mike helped me put up the rods and panels last night and it’s made the patio a little more private and personalized.  I think we are going to be spending even more time out here.

It appears someone else like the panels out on the patio.
