Decisions

There's nothing worse than having made up your mind about something and then having someone you respect and admire make you rethink your decision. I am having the trouble of having made up my mind about something and now, thinking and rethinking that choice. All the way home from work, I kept reminding myself that I made the right choice, yet when I have to argue it, I get all choked up and emotional. There must be something that can be said about feeling like you have to please everyone all the time, when it's really yourself that you have to please, no? I mean, afterall, I'm the one that has to live with my decisions 24 hours a day, not anyone else. I just hate being a grown up sometimes; that must be it.

Cole

This is my friend, Tanya, and her little boy, Cole. I haven't met Cole yet - just when he was in the tummy. He's really cute, eh?

I Guessed Wrong

How disappointing! I thought I was such a hotshot having visited half the states. And now I find out that I've only visited 9% of the countries in the world. I had better get to traveling soon...

Oh, The Places I've Been...

I thought I hadn't been to that many places in the US, but apparently, I've been to about half the states. Not too shabby, I guess.

Satellite Radio

We've had XM Radio for a few years now, but my husband uses it for work. This Christmas, as a gift, I received my very own satellite radio. At first I was really apprehensive about it, but after a few weeks, I actually like the darn thing. I am listening to it all day long in my office and it definitely drowns out the voices of some of my awful (but not all) co-workers. What do I want to listen to now? Eighties? Love songs? Classic rock? Talk radio? YES! All of it!

The Sopranos

Who ever said nothing happens in a small town of 15,000? The other night the Sopranos were filming down the street from our house! We didn't get to see anyone (bummer), but we did get a shot of the prop truck. It ain't much, but since I don't have much contact with celebrities or anything related to them, this is a big deal for me.

Owen's Baptism

Owen was baptized last week on Januay 22nd, in Fla-rida. I'm told he slept through the whole ceremony.

Pearl of the Day

Do all the good you can
In all the ways you can
To all the souls you can
In every place you can
At all the times you can
With all the zeal you can
As long as ever you can

Arirang

So, Mike and I went out last night for dinner. Since we both enjoy hibachi steakhouses, we thought this would be great. It wasn't. Service was bad and the food wasn't all that great. If you are ever in Mountainside and hungry, go to the Spanish Tavern across the street from Arirang.

Sci-Fi Friday Nights

My husband and his friend, Brendan, love to get together on Friday nights for their "Sci-Fi Night". Basically, it involves them sitting in front of the television, watching science fiction and drinking wine. Tonight, it even involved playing the new 007 game on the XBox (I'm told it contains the actual voice of Sean Connery -- swoon). I took these shots using the macro function on my camera which is why they are a little blurry, but I wanted to get a true representation of the evening.

My Act of Defiance

When I was a graduate student at FIU, I noticed a professor had this bumper sticker taped onto her door. I used to walk past it almost everyday, admiring it for it's strong message. One day, I stopped and took it. It's been sitting on my dresser mirror since.

When I'm Sixty-Four by Lennon & McCartney

When I get older losing my hair
many years from now
will you still be sending me a valentine
birthday greeting, bottle of wine
If I'd been out till quarter to three
would you lock the door
Will you still need me
Will you still feed me
When I'm sixty-four

Monkeys

Monkeys are very cool. And because of their coolness, I've decided to branch out and dedicate an entire page to monkeys and their friends. For more monkeyshines, click on the link in the side column.

The Stangls

My friends, Hugo and Marissa, came to NYC to visit for a few days during the holidays. One of those days, we went to see them and spend a day with them. With the Stangls, there's never a dull moment. Hugo claims his dinner was delicious; I preferred a steak.

My Hubby

Yes, I married him and yes, I did it happily. This is my hubby, Mike, and when I'm not yelling at him to clean up after himself and he's not watching football game after football game, we are as happy as clams. Just look at us - we definitely belong together.

Welcome to the World of Annie...

Happy 2006! I thought I would start the year off right and start one of these blog thingees. I have seen so many people posting on them and keeping in touch with friends, I thought, why not give it a shot? I'm not exactly sure where it will all end up, but I'm willing to follow it along its journey through cyberworld. Here goes...
