I Didn't Know How Difficult It Would Be

It's been about two months since we found out about Mike's transfer to Raleigh.  The first month was a little slow - we had to get our house ready to go on the market, had to sign papers with the relocation company, interview realtors, etc.  Then October came along and things really got moving.

Mike and I are currently in Raleigh - we've been here nearly a week, looking at different neighborhoods and homes (I LOVE looking at homes!), trying to figure out where we are going to live.  Back home, things are moving rather quickly.

After only three weeks on the market, we received an offer on our house.  It's not set in stone yet (is anything ever?) but we have a scheduled closing date.  Naturally, this has meant arranging movers and figuring out temporary housing all while being in Raleigh.

Mike and I are completely spent.  I give a hand to folks that make cross-state moves seem easy.  It's not easy at all and I have the help of a relocation company!  I wish I could close my eyes and a fast forward a few months.  If I could do that, maybe the tension I feel in my shoulders, neck and head would be gone.

Plus, I miss my boy.  He is home with my parents, apparently not having a care in the world.  Kids are really resilient.  It's the older folks that have the hang-ups.  ;)

It is tough. Fortunately for people who are crazy enough to move a lot (me), it is just like giving birth you forget how bad it was too quickly.
