News

Dear Internets,

I know I've been distant in my posts, but life has taken over and man, oh man, is life busy.  I have news, though, news that will more than likely give me reason to blog.

Here goes:  we are moving to North Carolina.

Mike was offered a work transfer and after much thought, we decided to take the plunge and just do it.  It's a great opportunity for him, and in turn, for the three of us.  So... off we go.

Not sure of a date of departure, we have lots to take care of here:  home sales, packing, actually, you know... moving.  So it could be a few months.

If there is anyone out there with knowledge of North Carolina, specifically the Raleigh area, please reach out to me at thesnowapewife[at]gmail[dot]com.

Sounds fun! Since they call New Yorkers who move to Florida & then half way back & stop in NC - half backs...what will you be called. Reverse half backs?

I need to keep up with your blog more often, otherwise, I would've missed this news. Wow conratulations to you guys for the new job...I have no idea about NC but I have moving advice. I've moved 3 times in less than 2 years thanx to the navy. So, my unsolicited advice(lol) is to get 1-rid of things that you really don't use now that you are packing. If you take them with you it will take you longer to settled down at your new place and with a toddler it won't be easy to do. 2-Name all the boxes of which room they are from and belong to and what they have in them. Like that it will take you less time to find stuff. 3- Take with you documents and small belongins such as jewelry that are important. Like that you won't risk those items getting "lost" by the movers or in all those moving boxes. I stored those items in a small plastic container and placed it in the trunk of my car. The plastic was clear color in case I needed to look for a document or such. 4-Store photos in plastic containers in case for some reason they are exposed to humidity or water that may ruin them. Right now I can't think of what other "measures" I took but I know that moving is stressful so my 5- advice would be to don't get the anxiety to eat you up and take it day by day that it will be a fun experience. At least that meme worked for me :)
