FeeNo Likes Jack Bauer

Mike and I must be the only people in North America that have never tuned into 24. Not one episode, people.

So, a few weeks ago, I added every single season of 24 to the Netflix account. We are halfway through the first season and nevermind the fact that Mike and I are hooked, so is FeeNo.

Saturday night, we sat down to watch the next installment of episodes (four of them, to be exact). I was completely relaxed, watching intently and I felt it: thump thump thump. Right on my belly.

I called Mike over to feel FeeNo's movements. But when he paused the video, FeeNo stopped moving.

Mike went back to his seat, put the video back on and all of a sudden: thump thump thump.

I called him over again. Mike paused the video and FeeNo stopped again.

Then it hit me: the kid is motivated by Jack Bauer.

We tried it again. This time with the volume on.

And Mike got his first feel of FeeNo hanging out in my belly, clearly amazed by the complicated plot of 24.

I am having the coolest kid in the world!

What Did You Think?

I am away from a computer for the entire day tomorrow, but I am super interested in finding out what everyone thought of tonight's final episode of The Sopranos.

I am going to take the rest of the night (and possibly all day tomorrow) to finish processing it.

Comments are welcomed and encouraged.

And they say romance is dead?

Last night, I was watching Grey's Anatomy when Mike came in the living room. I presumed he was in there to make fun of me.

He was, of course.

The taunting began: Oh, look at McDreamy. He's so handsome!

I glared at him.

Then it got better: I compare to those guys on that show, you know. Just call me... McSweaty.

Ahhhhh, my romantic husband.

This is what is all boils down to...

Last night, I was clearly upset watching The Amazing Race. I was extremely disapointed to see my favorite guys, Oswald and Danny, be eliminated from the race. All that's left are tree teams that, in my opinion, stink on ice.

I wish I was in Hawaii, sleeping on a hammock on the beach.

That's all folks.

Weekend in Pictures

I think I've used that post title before as a copout to writing something lengthy and meaningful. Guess what? I'm doing it again.

Here, in no particular order, photos from our weekend in South Florida:

Turtles at Bal Harbour. My mother thought they were fake, so she threw pennies at them. They weren't fake afterall.

A glimpse of Emeril at his restaurant on South Beach. I'd like to think he cooked my dinner that night. He probably didn't.

The obligatory visit to the tios' house: Dad, Mike and Tio. We watched Scarface.

Hello, My name is Chris Hansen and I'm from Dateline NBC

Is it me, or is everyone watching this show?

I wouldn't say that I am a faithful watcher of the program, but if I happen to be surfing the channels and it's on, I will watch it.

There is something to be said about the men that are caught on this show. How ridiculously dumb can they be to go online with a silly screen name (SexyGuyLuvsU, for instance) and look for young teenagers to meet up with. Even more ridiculous is how they show up at people's homes and think they are going to get lucky with teenagers.

My favorite part of the show is when they actually get arrested and come up with all kinds of excuses as to why they were in the house (my favorite was when a man said he was there to help a young girl do her homework - they later found lubricant and condoms in his car. Homework?)

While we wait for the next installment of the show, Mike and I have new screen names for when we are online: SexualKittyCat75 and YoungGatorLuvr007.

*I'm not trying to make light of these sexual predators, but this show portrays them as such idiots, I have to laugh.*

Lost? I Surely Am

This goes out to the folks over at ABC and JJ Abrams: what the hell was tonight's episode of Lost about?

I waited three months for this episode. I thought we were supposed to get answers! Instead, we get some sort of sensory overload room, the governor from Oz getting hit by a bus, and no Daniel Dae Kim. WTH?

I hope we get some answers soon. I'm not getting back the last two and half years of watching this show. Answers, JJ. Pronto!

Babies Everywhere

The other night, I was watching a special on Discovery Health about a woman who was getting a tummy tuck because she had given birth to SIX babies. Prior to having the SIX, she had given birth to a set of twins.

SIX! EIGHT KIDS TOTAL.

They actually showed video of her when she was pregnant - her belly extended three or four feet easily. It was amazing. They showed video of all the children - all eight of them - and it was incredible to see how loved they were by their parents.

In the world we live today, where parents leave their children in dumpsters and abuse them, it is refreshing and motivating to see a story like this one. Check out their website here. In addition to telling their story, there are the most adorable pictures of all the kids.

I think I want to have a baby. Maybe two. But I don't know about six.

Loving YouTube

Okay, I HEART YouTube. HEART. It makes my insides go nutty when I can do a search on New Kids on the Block (I loved Jordan Knight!) or Debbie Gibson (yes, sue me, I spent my adolescent years in the late 80s).

Anyway, I posted about this previously and I FOUND IT ON YouTube, which if I haven't already mentioned, totally rocks!

Dontcha Wish Your Girlfriend Was a Freak Like Me?

I will shamefully admit that I spent the last two nights watching the season premiere of American Idol. Even last night, when I got home at 7:55 pm, I excitedly skipped to the tv, turned it on to the show and while assembling storage boxes from IKEA, watched another two hours of this torture.

Open questions to fans, participants and judges of AI:

  • What is the thrill of watching these awful sounding people?

  • Don't the people that audition know they aren't good? At all?

  • Why is Paula Abdul drunk out of her mind all the time? Or is she drugged? Which is it?

I will say, however, that on the first night, I almost peed my pants watching a young girl (she was wearing blue jeans, a white button shirt and a tie) botch up Kiss by Prince. She had this great shimy shake going on and definitely had the song in her head. It just didn't translate well when she sang it aloud. And when they told her she wasn't going to make it through to the next round, she was gracious and didn't give the judges any lip or curse at them.

To her, I say, there's always next year.

One of Santa's Elves Threw Up in My House

Mike and I spent the entire weekend getting ready for Christmas. I told him, the King of Procrastination, if the tree didn't go up this weekend, not to bother putting it up.

So yesterday, up it went. A million lights and about a thousand red ornament balls later , the tree stands. It's quite lovely.

Then, I hung the stocking by the couch with care (sorry, we have no chimney). And added more lights to the railing that overlooks to my living room.

I set up the Nativity scene, which according to my mother (via telephone) is the most important thing of all. At first, Mike tried to set it up, but he couldn't get Joseph to look at the Baby Jesus just right, so I had to take over. He had the nerve to call me a temperamental artist. What nerve!

I even set up an old Nativity set from my single days in the kitchen. And more lights.

I have so many lights and not even places to put them!

All that and I'm still not in the spirit.

I think I need to rewatch A Charlie Brown Christmas.

Oh yes, and it appears I may have to join Mike on a trip to Buffalo this weekend, but that's another post. For now, I'll just say:

I do not want to go to Buffalo.

Dreams

Last weekend, I had a dream that I flew to California for a conference and Luke Perry picked me up at the airport! Yes, that's right. Luke. Perry. Sideburns and all.

It was a really strange dream because I no longer have a crush of Luke Perry (yes, I was totally and madly in love with him when I was a sophomore in high school, because, hello? he was Dylan McKay on 90210 and really, what was he doing with Brenda, when he could totally have me?). But in my dream, I was really happy that he picked me up and we were friendly.

And then Luke asked me to go with him to a time share presentation in Palm Springs. What could I say? Of course!

But in my dream, I was married. To my sweaty snowape husband in real life. But I did call him, told him Luke had picked me up, I was safe and we were going to a time share presentation.

I think in my dream (at least, I'm hoping) my hubby was jealous.

When I woke up, I was all giddy and happy. I told Mike about the dream. He wasn't too impressed.

What's up with that?

If he told me he dreamt about him and Elle McPherson going to a time share presentation, I would at least pretend to be happy for him.

Well, after I called her a perfect, dirty, and disgusting wench.

Cravings

I spent the entire day yesterday craving Chex Mix. Not just your regular variety either, I was craving Honey Nut Chex Mix.

On my way home from work, I stopped at the store and bought some. I'm sad to report that it wasn't what I expected. It was nearly as honey nutty as I remembered. WTH?

But I did go home and get to watch Emmitt's big victory on Dancing With the Stars. I didn't expect him to win, but I loved him all season. And it was great to watch the other dancer, Karina, squirm when her beloved Mario didn't win (insert evil laugh here).

Mishmash

After one night of the home computer being fixed, it's on the 'outs' again. I think it's my modem. But I ain't no computer wiz, so I can't be sure. Of course, the computer being 'out' means that I can't post any pictures, check my personal email, or pay any bills. Just great. It's like there's a conspiracy against me - DON'T. LET. HER. PAY. BILLS. OR. POST. PICTURES.

The lack of internet access has allowed me to do a few things around the house, though. The first thing I did was create a shopping list for Thanksgiving. The list is pages and pages long and I suspect that we are going to have lots of leftovers, but hey, I'd rather have leftovers than not have enough food. Right? Inititially, when I offered to host Thanksgiving, I had images in my mind of baking pies and making decorations. Now, I'm convinced that if I buy a pie at the grocery store, no one will notice the difference. So I will. And decorations? Yeah, right.

The second thing I did was sit though an hour of the new William Shatner gameshow - Show Me the Money. I have one message for Shatner (or as my husband would call him, OTS, One True Shatner): I'll give you some money if you just go away! The show as a complete disaster, comprised of components from all the other gameshows on tv. Seriously, how much dancing and singing can we take from Shatner? He's not a sexy guy; he really shouldn't be singing Sexyback. No more, please, for the love of all that is holy and pure.

Lastly, and I would have done this with or without access to the internet, I watched the finals of
Dancing with the Stars. I am completely in love with Emmitt Smith. And I am sad to think that he won't win tonight. But I'm keeping my fingers crossed anyway.

Keeping My Fingers Crossed

Here's hoping that Emmet Smith makes it to the finals in Dancing With the Stars tonight.

I know, I'm ridiculous for hoping (especially since I didn't vote because OH MY GOD, how stupid and pathetic would I be to vote!), but that man is GOOD!

You can guess where I'll be tonight at 8. Sitting on the couch with my hands tucked underneath my legs so I don't bite my nails, watching ABC.

Sad.

But oh so very true.

The Daddy of the Mac

Last night, I watched the highly anticipated season premiere of Grey's Anatomy.

Wonderful. Awesome. Emotional.

Yes, I know, it's just a television show. But it was really moving!

After it ended, I made my way upstairs, where Mike was getting ready for bed.

Mike: How was McDreamy?

Me: *sigh*

Mike: Are you crying?

Me: Maybe a little bit. It was really good.

He went on to ask me about the episode (I think he was trying to gain brownie points with me or something - cause really, what does he really care about the show?).

Suddenly, he said something that I am sure he spent the entire evening thinking about:

The way you feel about McDreamy, that must be the way my female co-workers feel about me. I'm like the Big Mac they'll never get to eat. Cause I'm *your* Big Mac.

I rolled over and went to sleep. There's just no response to that. None whatsoever.

I Seriously Think I Am Going to Have a Heart Attack in Anticipation

Tonight is the season premiere of Grey's Anatomy.

Last week, I was very pathetic is my viewing of Dancing with the Stars (which, by the way, I watched again this week and was completely mesmerized - I *love* Emmet Smith!). But this week, I have been counting down the days, and today, I'm counting down the hours till I get to see Dr. McDreamy again. Reruns just don't cut it.

I need McDreamy already.

I won't bother to watch the recap show - after all, I've seen every episode since the beginning. But I will say that I already warned Mike that if he wants anything from me - food, drink, cleaning, even conversation - he has to take care of it before 9 pm, Eastern Time.

I hope he doesn't divorce me when he sees me drooling tonight.
