For the last four days, we've had temperatures high in the 90s. Hot, thick air is present from early in the morning until late in the evening. It's hot. Unbearably hot.
But tomorrow, we're having a coldfront: it's supposed to drop into the 80s. Whoa.
In other news: I'm going back to work next week. I start Monday. Part-time. It's exactly what I need. And since I'm returning to the place I was previous to my last job (does that make sense?), I'll have more to blog about, since it signals the return of 'my crazy bad dressed co-worker.'
I can't wait.

Long Weekend
I'm overdue on my month three letter to Patrick. One day late, as a matter of fact. But I will have it up in the next two days or so.
Mike and I have been busy swapping out Patrick's room for the guest room. It's a project that has involved me taking the baby to my MIL's house for the weekend and Mike and I taking apart the crib and daybed and putting it all back together.
Yesterday, we got a lot of work done. We are still doing final things today. The rooms looks great. Pictures soon, I promise!

A Post About Nothing... or, Everything...
So it's been almost two weeks since my last substantial post. No excuses, just busy with everyday life and, of course, Christmas.
Patrick was baptized last weekend (photos forthcoming, probably in my two month letter to Patrick - eeek! Almost two months already!), so that took up a good chunk of time both before and after the event with family and friends.
We are trying to get Patrick to sleep for longer periods of time during the night. So far, we haven't been as successful as I have hoped, but it hasn't been awful. At most, he is sleeping in 4-5 hour stretches. But then again, he also has nights when he wakes up every two hours. We're working on it.
My parents are leaving in three weeks. While I am extremely grateful to them for leaving this blissful retired lives in Miami to come here to help, I think it might be time. I have to start adjusting to life with Patrick while Mike is at work. I am slowly getting back into the groove - laundry, cleaning, etc. I admire all women who are at home, watching their kids and still manage to get everything done in their houses. It's a tough job, this stay at home business.
I've been trying to finish up the Christmas shopping - I think I am finished. I just hope I don't see anything else that I just have to buy.
I've been thinking that I am going to rejoin Weight Watchers next month. Before I got pregnant, I lost 25 pounds on the points system and I still got to eat what I wanted. After Patrick, I have lost 25 pounds again, but I still want to lose more. I'm sure I will be blogging about my weight loss once the new year rolls around.
What else?
Oh! Freckle Face Girl had her baby boy last week (or was it the week before that?). He's a cutie pie. Go to her page and check out the photos she has posted of her little bundle of joy. Congrats!
One more thing - I couldn't post this weekend without adding a picture of the little punk. :) So here he is, meeting Santa Claus for the first time:

Random Facts
Sometime last week (or maybe it was the week before), I was tagged by FFG.
I'm just getting around to doing it.
Here goes:
8 Random Facts/Habits About You

Here goes:
8 Random Facts/Habits About You
- I am not a big fan of cheese or cheese products. I won't eat a slice of cheese on a cracker and I don't like it added into my salads. I won't use cheese dip, not even nachos. But I LOVE LOVE LOVE pizza. With extra cheese.
- When I am home, I have a tendency to use the bathroom with the door open and have complete conversations with Mike. I fully expect him to do the same for me, but he doesn't agree.
- I am obsessive about paying bills. I have a whole system where I line up the bills in order of their due date and then pay them in that order. I keep a very balanced checkbook, right down to the penny. And if there's a discrepency between the bank statement and my ledger, I will not stop until I figure out what the problem is. Update: I *just* called my town's tax collector because the tax bill hasn't arrived yet and it's supposedly due next week. Ack! I need to pay the bill! But when I got someone on the phone, they told me the bills haven't been sent out yet and they will be due on August 21. See? There is something seriously wrong me with. Who wants to pay their tax bill?
- When I grocery shop, I make a pretty extensive list of what I need. I cross reference it with whatever is on sale that week and then I look for coupons to fray the costs. I have been known to save more than $20 on grocery shopping visits.
- Even though I am Cuban, I won't eat black beans and rice. That is, black beans on top of white rice. I don't like the soupy texture of the beans. But I will eat an entire plate full of black beans cooked in the rice - congris, if you will.
- I am scared of watching mystery shows especially Unsolved Mysteries. The voice of the host freaks me out and causes a long bout of insomnia.
- I dream in English and Spanish. Sometimes, I dream of my aunts in uncles in Cuba and they speak English. Other times I dream of my husband speaking Spanish.
- I speak to my parents nearly everyday. We don't even talk about any substantial, but I need the phone call just as much as my parents do.
I'm supposed to tag 8 people to do this, but I won't. Although, I am interested in reading what Martha has to say. If anyone else wants to do it, feel free to, and let me know in the comments section.
